The Together crafting model
Together put more emphasis on research, predictable base access, facets, and the Ember modification family. Crafting is no longer just “make the highest-level item.” The goal is to produce a base with the right moveset or armor role, an acceptable innate facet, and enough remaining flexibility for enchantments and gems.
Scribe Table research replaced parts of the older blueprint-drop loop. Stations and upgraded town vendors still determine which recipes and operations are available, so a missing recipe can be a progression or station problem rather than a missing material.
Step 1: define the base
Choose a weapon family from the 212-record database or an armor slot from the 443-piece database. Test a dropped or clean version before mass crafting. Normal attacks, running and dodge attacks, recovery, requirements, and total weight must all fit.
Write the target as a job: “one-handed spear for safe reach,” “staff that funds an area rune,” or “body piece that preserves normal weight.” A named “best item” is not a crafting plan.
Step 2: acquire recipe and materials
Check the relevant research and station interface. Use the Materials database to confirm exact names and descriptions, then verify source routes separately. Refining may require time or fuel in the current system; plan processed components before the final craft.
In co-op, agree before contributing scarce shared materials to a town project or personal item. Persistent Realm progress helps everyone, but the immediate resource cost is still real.
Step 3: select the facet
Facets are innate tradeoffs and cannot be treated like a normal reroll line. Craft several affordable bases only when the desired facet materially changes the build. Stop when the benefit is useful and the downside is survivable; chasing a perfect label can consume the entire material budget before enchantments begin.
Examples include damage for stamina cost, attack speed for lower damage or stamina regeneration, armor for added weight, and elemental infusion for lower damage. Read Facets for the current vocabulary.
Step 4: upgrade and test
Upgrade enough to compare the candidate in relevant content. Do not fully invest simply because the facet rolled well. Confirm the movement class, stamina loop, Focus generation, and the safe punish against a target that does not instantly stagger.
Step 5: modify the winner
Use the live preview for Embers, Enchantments, and Gems & Infusions. Work one layer at a time and keep a baseline. Patch 1 and Hotfix 8 fixed several stacking bugs, so old formulas are not a substitute for the current panel.
Step 6: exalt last
Exalting is the final-candidate step. It can improve enchantments beyond ordinary limits while restricting later modification choices. Read the Exalting guide and finish the facet, enchantment, gem, rune, and loadout plan first.
The best crafted item is not the one with the highest screenshot number. It is the one whose base behavior and every modification point toward the same encounter job.
