Route overview
The Western Bridge Key is tied to The Innkeeper's Husband and Gordon's rescue in the coastal ruins. Reach Sacrament, accept the quest from the innkeeper, then follow the objective back toward the coast and the tower/ruin route where Gordon is stranded. Reach Gordon and collect the quest pickup associated with opening the return path.
Legacy guides commonly describe the area as the western or north-western Shallows route. The current Build's item record is internally grouped with the fortress tunnel and its description says it opens a door “somewhere on the western side of Mariner's Keep.” Use the quest marker, coastal tower, and locked bridge route as the stable landmarks rather than relying on one old region label.
Step-by-step
- Reach Sacrament and speak with the innkeeper to start The Innkeeper's Husband.
- Travel back toward the marked coastal ruins.
- Approach the tower from its accessible side and climb through the ruin route.
- Speak with Gordon at the stranded position and collect the nearby quest/key pickup.
- Follow the connected upper route toward the locked western bridge door.
- Use the Western Bridge Key to open the path and create the loop back to Gordon.
- Complete the rescue interaction and return to Sacrament when the journal directs you.
The current quest localization confirms the completed state: Gordon is rescued from the ruins at the coast and asks the player to find him back in Sacrament.
If the key or door is missing
- Confirm The Innkeeper's Husband is the active objective.
- Check the glowing pickup near Gordon rather than only his dialogue.
- Verify another member of the persistent Realm has not already opened the route.
- Follow the connected tower path; the key is not a random chest farm.
- If the door label differs from an old guide, trust the objective and current item prompt.
In co-op, regroup before advancing the rescue. A member playing asynchronously may change the shared Realm state and make an old solo step look absent.
