What the 250-record database means
The current Build contains 250 localized HeroRuneDataAsset records. Some names appear more than once because different assets can share a visible name or support different bindings. The database above preserves those records rather than pretending every display name is globally unique.
Compatibility must be confirmed in the live rune description and menu. Current descriptions explicitly name targets such as Two-Handed Weapon, Gauntlets, or Utility Slot. A database name alone cannot prove that every weapon accepts the rune.
Build a four-job bar
Instead of selecting four impressive animations, give each slot a job:
- Reliable spend: a cost and animation the normal Focus loop can support.
- Control or group clear: an answer to clustered enemies.
- Mobility or safety: entry, escape, or repositioning.
- Long-opening burst: the expensive option for a stagger or phase window.
Not every build needs all four. A smaller set of clearly assigned runes is easier to fund and execute than several overlapping burst skills.
Current swapping rules
Together Patch 1 updated Eleanor's Rune Menu so installed rune slots can be swapped. Hotfix 8 expanded swapping support to unique weapons. The official boundary remains important: on unique weapons, you still cannot destroy runes or insert new replacement runes.
Preview the resulting slot order and inputs before leaving the menu. A technically valid swap can still put the emergency action on an uncomfortable binding.
Patch-sensitive costs and bow rules
Patch 1 reduced Multishot damage, raised Skyfall Shot to 100 Focus, increased Arrowstorm's area and damage radius, and fixed Ilaria's stamina-based runes for bows. These named changes make pre-Patch cost sheets unsafe.
Use the current menu cost, then ask how many normal attacks or other triggers the build needs to earn it. Maximum Focus without generation only delays the shortage.
Read rune descriptions literally
Current records distinguish Rune Attacks, Spells, and Utility Slot effects. They also name elemental infusion, movement, damage, or resistance jobs. Do not convert a descriptive word into an unstated scaling rule; check the weapon requirements, rune preview, and final character panel.
If the rune description says it slots into a specific family, honor that limit even if another weapon has an empty-looking slot. If a menu refuses the item, the current live behavior beats a legacy database.
Database boundary
Record presence does not prove the acquisition source or that the rune is currently obtainable. Duplicate names may represent internal variants. We expose the full current vocabulary and leave unsupported location claims out.
For a complete Focus economy, read Magic Builds or the relevant archetype under Builds. For the base that carries the slots, use the Weapon database.
